Portuguese photographer Carlos Couto's interest in photography can be traced back to his childhood in Portugal. It was there that he discovered documentary photography in the pages of the National Geographic. Not only did these images fill his bedroom walls, they also ignited his imagination.

Portuguese actor Pedro Carmo is part of the cast of the Broadway show "Breakfast at Tiffany's", by Truman Capote. Pedro plays the role of José. He is originally from Lisbon, Portugal, where he has worked on stage, in film and television for more than 15 years.

Portugal Day NY 2013 - Registration Open

The Portugal Day NY 2013 race registration for the 5 Mile and kids' races is now open. If you would like to run make sure to register as soon as possible. Last year, 2012, registration was closed mid April as max capacity was reached, 7,200 runners.

Our friend Chef David Santos is the mastermind behind the opening of the latest Portuguese inspired restaurnt in New York City. Located in the West Village, Louro is David's playground where he brings the Portuguese flavors and fragrances from his childhood, combined with the influences he was exposed to at places like Per Se, Bouley and Hotel Griffou.

Are Portuguese Hispanic? [SURVEY]

The US Census Bureau is planning to add Portuguese to the Hispanic designation of ethnicity for the 2020 National Census. As there has been much debate about whether or not Portuguese should be considered Hispanic, PALCUS is conducting national survey to gauge the overall sentiment of the Portuguese-American community on this issue.
